Simply Service Frequently Asked Questions
When starting Simple Service it displays a window that says
"Not a valid account name or password." What am I doing wrong?
- You use the name "SM" and password
"SER". You must type both words in all capitals letters.
Please refer to page 7 of the Simple Service user manual.
I want to backup Simple Service. What files do I need?
- You need to back up "simpdata.mdb"
and "simpsamp.mdb". This is where Simple Service stores your
ticket and customer information.
I am getting error messages about the Jet database engine
being corrupt or general database problems. What should I do?
- First, backup your Simple Service data files
as described in the above step.
- Next, in Windows 3.1 click "File"
then choose "Run", or in Windows 95 click "Start"
then choose "Run".
- A run box will appear. Type the following line
in the box and click "OK".
- C:\SIMPSERV\MSARN200.EXE
C:\SIMPSERV\SIMPSERV.MDB /REPAIR
- Then, enter the name "SM" and
password "SER" and click "OK".
- Next, several boxes will appear. Click
"OK" in each of them.
- Go into Simple Service and see if the problem
has been fixed.
- If the problem has not been fixed. Repeat the
above procedure using the following commands below.
- C:\SIMPSERV\MSARN200.EXE
C:\SIMPSERV\SIMPDATA.MDB /REPAIR
- C:\SIMPSERV\MSARN200.EXE
C:\SIMPSERV\SIMPSAMP.MDB /REPAIR
- C:\SIMPSERV\MSARN200.EXE
C:\SIMPSERV\SIMPSERV.MDB /COMPACT
- C:\SIMPSERV\MSARN200.EXE
C:\SIMPSERV\SIMPDATA.MDB /COMPACT
- C:\SIMPSERV\MSARN200.EXE
C:\SIMPSERV\SIMPSAMP.MDB /COMPACT
- If none of these steps work you must restore
your Simple Service information from backup.
